I never could understand the principle of aerodynamics. And I probably never will, no matter how many times someone tries to explain it to me. The fact that facing into the wind is uplifting, continues to baffle me.
And yet I know that facing into the wind enables planes to take off and kites to fly.
I think that is why God wants us to face our winds of adversity. Turning towards the wind is an act of faith that means we are ready to take off from where we stand; that we have courage to take action; that we have confidence that we will succeed.
Remember what Timothy Mouse said to Dumbo the elephant:
“The very things that held you down are gonna carry you up and up and up.”
