The ability to wait quietly for something is evidence of strong character.
Waiting on the Lord is the patient confidence that what He promises for our life now and in the future will come true. Joseph sat for two years in prison forgotten by those who said they would remember to help him. Was that wasted time? No, in fact Warren Wiersbe says this about Joseph’s time in prison:
“God permitted Joseph to be treated unjustly and put in prison to help build his character and prepare him for the tasks that lay ahead.
The prison would be a school where Joseph would learn to wait on the Lord . . . He would learn that God’s delays are not God’s denials” (Be Authentic, p. 111).
