“And when they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah: so they were routed.” 1Chronicles 20:22
We live in a day when crisis seems to surround us. People facing serious illnesses, economic woes, global natural disasters, family tragedies, etc., are all feeling overwhelmed and like Jehoshaphat are saying “we do not know what to do.” (20:12)
But if you read the remainder of the verse he says “but our eyes are on You.” God spoke to him and told him not to be dismayed or fearful because of what surrounded them, but to station themselves so they could see what He was going to do on their behalf.
The victory began as the people overwhelmed their fears with praise and singing of how great their God was. Before the army would shout victory, the people would sing praise. That is the case today.
Sing to the Lord for He is good. His loving-kindness is everlasting, and He loves to rescue His children.
