CHERISH GOD’S PROMISES!

In running the race, we must never forget an important principle: because of the unique place God has given to faith, His grace flows along the channels of His promises — not His commands!

God’s commands do show His holy character and reveal our sinfulness, but that is all. They have no ability in themselves to empower us to obey — which puts us in a dilemma. How many believers struggle this very hour with the realization that ” I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out” (Romans 7:18). 

The blessed promises of God, when trusted, release His supernatural grace in and through us. Saints down through the ages, while lying on their deathbed, have not clung to the holy commands of God but have instead cherished His promises.
