“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6
Members of a psychology class asked 500 people what they are afraid of. To the surprise of the 500 students surveyed, they listed 7000 fears.
It is once again evidence that we live in a world that is wrought with worries, anxieties and fears. However, God reminds us throughout the Bible we are never alone, and that He will not fail us. We have but one task, and that is to remain focused on the Lord rather than upon our fears.
It was Peter’s fear that brought about his sinking as he was walking to Jesus on the water (Matt. 14:30) “But seeing the wind, he became afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord save me!”
Someone rightly said, “Fear is a darkroom where negatives are developed.”
Each day we can choose to let faith take the lead lifting us up, or we can choose fear which will drag us down. The choice is ours.
