THOSE GIANTS

The story of David and Goliath has a theme of reality vs. distortion. The reality was that God had promised that His people would not lose their land if they followed Him. The distortion was a giant that seemed more real and immediate than God’s promise and presence.

Fear can distort your view of reality and paralyze you. The giants in your path can appear more powerful than your Almighty God who promises to deliver you if you let Him fight for you.

Sooner or later you will face some kind of fearsome giant—an especially great temptation, guilt, sin, anger, anxiety, depression, disease, or other difficulty. Don’t let the size of the giant reduce your awareness of the size of your God!
