Dr. Dale Robbins writes, “I used to think people complained because they had a lot of problems. But I have come to realize that they have problems because they complain. Complaining doesn’t change anything or make situations better. It amplifies frustration, spreads discontent and discord, and can invoke an invitation for the devil to cause havoc with our lives.” Complaining makes us miserable.
Psalm 77:3 says, “I complained and my spirit was overwhelmed.”
The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). That alone makes me seek to find reasons to praise throughout the day.
I am reminded of what one motor officer told me during training maneuvers where they must guide their motorcycles at slow speeds in tight turns. He said, “keep your head up because to look down is to go down.”
