“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7
As I was preparing for my Sunday services these verses seemed to be planted in the forefront of my mind. In this Thanksgiving week where recipe’s are important, it is the reminder that God has given us a recipe for peace.
That recipe begins with understanding what anxiety is, and to put it first in the pan. Anxiety is overwhelming care and it is our attempt at control over circumstances. It actually can be defined as passive panic, but when we mix it with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving and then giving it to God we receive the sweet outcome of peace. How important is this? We are to be anxious for nothing.
How much is nothing?
