Ezra and Nehemiah were serious, godly leaders of the people, but when they completed the walls it was time to celebrate, for God had helped them to succeed.
In thanksgiving and dedication, the people listened to God’s Word. This moment of joy and gladness was followed by food and festivities to remember, thank, praise, and share about all God has done.
Now that is what a Sunday church is all about— a time celebrating in Him the completion of one week and the start of the next. (Nehemiah 8:10)
