I am often asked why I try to greet each person I encounter with a smile, a hello, or sometimes a, “How are you?” It doesn’t matter whether I am on a walk around the neighborhood with my wife, shopping for groceries, or at a gas station.
In my mind God calls me to be warm, kind, friendly, and encouraging wherever I go. Look at it this way. If you have ever understood office dynamics, you know how important the receptionist or front office people are to creating a positive opinion in your clients or customers. We train our front office people to be professional, yet friendly, warm, helpful, and caring to people waiting for their appointment, etc.
So you see, I view this world as God’s front office, and I am employed there. I can do a lot to give a great impression about my Boss and His company by my attitudes and behavior. Everyone is waiting for their appointment with Him, and it is my job to serve them and Him until that time comes.
