“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
There are seven words that bring freedom. They restore our relationship with God because of the grace and mercy of Christ. They restore homes that are fractured because of sins between husbands and wives, parents and children, and siblings.
Those seven words are, “I was wrong, will you forgive me?”
Sadly, too many people settle for six words that sound similar, but are profoundly different. They are, “I need to ask for forgiveness.” The person who speaks these words may believe they have said enough but in reality, the other person may be waiting for them to continue and then actually admit their wrong and ask for forgiveness.
However, too many walk away without ever being humble and honest enough to follow through confessing that they know they are wrong and then asking for forgiveness. Ask and you will receive.
