“So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who as entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.” Hebrew 4:9-10
How can we re-prioritize our lives? A pastor wrote it best: “I was dominated by ‘shoulds,’ ‘ought-tos,’ and ‘musts.’ I would awaken unrefreshed in the morning, with a tired kind of resentment, and I would hurry through the day trying to uncover and meet the demands of others. Days were not lived but endured. I was exhausted trying to be a hope constantly rekindled for others, straining to live up to their images of me. I had worked hard to develop a reputation as one who was concerned, available, and involved–now I was being tyrannized by it. Often I was more at peace in the eyes of others than in my own.” This chasing of one’s tail is a tactic of the devil to wear down believers as they pursue impeccable lives instead of indelible ones. Before long the precious things that should be cherished are lost, As Tim Hansel wrote, we must be “like a clock in a thunderstorm, which moves at its own pace.” As I close think on this. What you did today must have been important because you exchanged a day of your life for it.. May God give you rest and peace. Love~Pastor Bob
