There are times when “to remain still” requires far more strength than to act.
To remain composed is actually a higher form of power. During the vilest and most deadly accusations, Jesus responded with deep, unbroken silence. Through the worst of the insults, the most violent treatment, He responded with voiceless calm.
He never said the things did not hurt Him. It is one thing to be hurt but it is another thing to be moved from doing what is right.
He cared about one thing and that was to be loyal to His Father’s purpose. “When they hurled insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.” 1 Peter 2:23
