A Servant Expects to Suffer.
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. (Matthew 10:24-25)
As Jesus’ light shines through us, people who love darkness (John 3:19) will become convicted and often uncomfortable in the light of His glory, and will hate and ridicule us. If we truly seek to serve Jesus, it’s only a matter of time before we must share in a portion of His suffering.
However, we can take heart that we will one day stand in victory with Him knowing that nothing we go through for Him was in vain.
