WHY, OH WHY, DO I FACE TRIALS AND DIFFICULTIES?

In every situation we face, there is purpose and meaning. Nothing is without purpose or meaning in life except sin. 

God’s goal behind the difficulties and why we face them is that He needs battle-tested veterans and not green troops. God’s purpose for allowing trials is for the purpose of personal growth and development in His followers, or in a word, — experience. The lessons and the classrooms will vary, but over time each of us will develop strength of spirit, mind, and body for the gaining of great victories. 

Oliver Wendell Holmes said that the greatest gift life could give a man is the sense of having held on alone in the dark, sustained only by faith. This has to be wrought in a man. He is not born with it.
