Hebrews 6:19. “We have this HOPE as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Have you ever felt like you were sinking deeply…your heart felt sick…your soul felt weak and betrayed? Most of us, who are honest and humble, would admit circumstances in our lives have driven us to despair, hopelessness, and desperateness.
When the angel Lucifer, the angel of music, rebelled against God, he deceived a third of the angels and took them with him…to this earth. It was easy for the angels to follow him, because he was attractive, charming, and talented. He promised them empty lies and filled them with self-deception. Because he was and still is the most self-absorbed and narcissistic being, he wants everyone to follow him. But his path leads only to destruction.
So when you find yourself feeling the opposite of hope, which is despair, heartsick, depressed, think of this New Year, the beginning of a new decade, instead as the launch into renewed HOPE. Realize satan, who desires to control every aspect of this world, utilizes circumstances to manipulate your feelings which, at times, can produce blinding results.
Hebrews 6:19 says that hope in Christ is a firm and secure anchor for our souls. This hope abandons anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. Hope in Jesus isn’t, “Well, I hope something will happen.” No, it’s more like, “My hope is anchored in Jesus…I know His plan for my life is secure and rich.”
When times are tough, and we have all faced difficult and trying situations, our hope in Jesus is part of our faith in Him. Hope is the 20/20 vision-like faith in Christ, who never reneges on His promises, but rewards us when we depend solely and completely on Him…during 2020 and the rest of this new decade!
